Reopening Plan

The library staff understands how important access to your public library is. And we’re excited to be moving toward seeing everyone in-person again on a regular basis!

To ensure the safety of our staff and community as we move closer to resuming normal operation, we have a three-phased plan for our reopening. Sign up for our emails to receive reopening updates.


(began June 15)

• The library remains closed to the public, but library staff return to work in the building on a limited schedule. 
• Returns are accepted via the outside book drop. All items will have a 96-hour quarantine before they are handled for check-in.
• The library continues to host virtual programs.


(began November 28)

• The library is closed to the public, including computer and passport services.
• Phone and virtual services will continue during normal operating hours.
Outside material pickup continues.
• Borrowers are responsible for item due dates.
• The library continues to host virtual programs.


(began February 10)

• The library opens on a limited basis to the public for drop-in 30-minute browsing and computer use, and passport services by appointment only.
• New health and safety policies for patrons are instituted and include mandatory face masks and physical distancing, and special hours for at-risk patrons.
• The library continues virtual programs with additional in-person programs when in compliance with health official recommendations.
• The quarantine of materials ends May 11.

The library is open for limited in-person services.

We're open for limited in-person services including browsing and computer use with a one-hour time limit. Passport services require appointments. Masks continue to be required for everyone 2 years of age and older regardless of vaccination status.
